For my R1 I did a quotes collage. Each word describes globalization in its own way. There are many different types but all of the words connect in some way. This is some of what globalization means in my perspective.

The ship graveyard is a place where anyone in the world can take their ships to to be torn apart. The workers at the graveyard work in a very unsafe environment and the pay is quite low. Some are just lucky that they at least get work. They break down the entire ship into pieces that they can use for other things.
In my opinion I think that is pretty cool that someone even thought of that. Still I think that somehow we need to give those workers the tools and safety they need to continue working. Some people that work there are only teenagers, they deserve a safe place. They use equipment that just looks dangerous. It looks all run down and like it could malfunction at any moment. On June 3 there was a ceremony to honor and remember all of the indigenous women who were tortured and killed. In that ceremony they were scared someone would not get the point of all this so the two TV stations thought it would be a good idea to put up a video of Donald Trump of all people. Someone who continuously makes racist jokes and thinks it is okay. He made many Pocahontas jokes because of who they were and thought it was fine.
Many people have tried to take their land due to petty reasons and just being super racist. Like whats the point? Why do people gotta be like that? The indigenous people had the land before those other people did anyway. Respect the land and respect the natives who live there. Our casual racism is tearing down communities and cultures, we are supposed to learn and respect other peoples cultures not use them as a reason to hate them. In Alabama they have recently criminalized abortion. They think that it is cruel and that women should not have a choice. In some stories that people in the court house talked about were their own experiences with abortion. One man said that his niece got an abortion and is now in a mental institution because she believed she killed an unborn living being. In my opinion I think other people made her believe she was doing something so criminal and that she is a monster. A lot of people around the world are making young people believe that they are committing a serious crime by getting an abortion. In reality it is not a fully formed human yet, they will not feel pain until the nervous system is developed. Georgia,Mississippi,Ohio and Kentucky made the law illegal at the earliest just six weeks into pregnancy.
Recently in Alberta we had an election to see which political party would be running the province basically (and getting more seats). Last year we had the NDP party running Alberta, this year the Conservatives won the election. Before a party was declared the winner they had to make videos on what they promised our province. Like Healthcare, Education important topics like that. We do not know if they would live up to everything they said so we will have to see. In my opinion I do not think the conservatives will live up to the good promises they made. They are also making budget cuts for education. That puts a lot of teachers at risk of losing their jobs and losing money. I know most people do not like Rachel Notly but at least she would have prioritized education and healthcare a little more. CRTC should not limit what we hear and see because they are just making sure we listen and support a Canadian radio station as well. Most Canadians were listening to only American music and radio, barely any Canadian artists made the radio stations. I like the fact that back then they were trying to focus more on getting Canada's radio and music industry more out there. It was always just other countries making the charts and being heard everywhere so i appreciate the fact that they were not just gonna leave it as is and made sure Canadians could listen to Canadian music and news as well. They might have sometimes where they should limit what we hear and see because sometimes its just nice too see/hear what the rest of the world is up to. We should not have to feel secluded in our country, we need to hear and see what everyone else is doing just in case Canada could help another country if need be, Really depending on the situation. My current event is about Momo. Momo is a video that is encouraging kids to commit suicide or seriously harm themselves. Found that most children did not even find out about Momo until their parents told them about it or made a huge deal about it on Facebook. A source on CBC news says that the main spread of this video is by parents who may be over reacting a bit. There are no known deaths, no record of serious injury. There is no actual threat right now but if parents keep posting about it and making a huge deal about it and telling everyone to post and share about it, their children might get seriously freaked out and do something bad.
“For no reason I felt myself beginning to cry, my heart ached so bad it began to drop”
“Through my tears I saw a pool of isolation” “The feelings hit you so fast they are non-stop” “ I went out of the room and down the hall, the shadows were all in formation” “Nothing to be found” “Just darkness” “Keep running, find a way out” “Did you go?” “What did you find?” “Nothing, still no light, no way out of this place” “ Its closing in¨ ¨That thought, the one ¨ “You have done nothing wrong¨, ¨You are like a mockingbird, they do not harm or steal, only sing¨ My reflections on the video where that to never be selfish and to help people whenever you can. Always make time for people no matter what your doing.
